History and stuff:
Matilda was born to Harry and Zinnia Wormwood in what is referred to as "a nice neighborhood." She has an older brother Mikey who constantly harasses her and a mother and father who dislike her. They pay her almost no attention and when they do it's with an air of distain. Her father sells faulty cars, built using stolen car parts. Her mother has no specified job but is constantly out of the house to play bingo or any number of other activities.

Matilda has always been extremely intelligent and independent. She walks herself to the library through a city by looking it up in a phone book at approximately age 4. She loves to read and learn. Her parents didn't realize she was old enough to go until a bit late but at age 6 she is finally sent to school and she excels tremendously.

Her teacher is a kind woman named Jenifer Honey who cares for all the kids in her class immensely. She notices right away that Matilda is very intelligent and tries to ask the headmaster, Miss Trunchbull, to move her up a few grades. Trunchbull refuses and Miss Honey resolves to give Matilda some harder things to work on just so she doesn't get bored.

The Trunchbull is a menacing force at the school. She was once an Olympic athlete who is capable of throwing children around when they misbehave in the slightest. She allows nothing happy to happen in the school because she really hates children. One day Miss Honey invites Matilda to her house and tells her a story about how The Trunchbull is her aunt that's stolen her family's home and money after her father died.

Matilda instantly sympathizes and wants to help Miss Honey regain all the money and possessions she's lost. Matilda discovers soon that, when she's yelled unfairly and doesn't like a situation, strange things will happen. She slowly realizes that she has a power within herself to use telekinetic powers when she focuses on all the insults of her family and The Trunchbull. She trains them to perfection and in the end takes revenge on the Trunchbull for all that she's done.

The Trunchbull leaves town forever, allowing Miss Honey to take back all she'd lost. Matilda's father is finally being tailed by the FBI and he decides to leave the country with his family to escape the law. When he comes to take Matilda she begs to stay with Miss Honey. Miss Honey adopts her and her father escapes. For then on Matilda lived with Miss Honey, who took over being the school's headmaster.

Here the story ends. I was planning on taking Matilda after her going through several years at her elementary school and junior high. Miss Honey would send her to Fandom knowing that having powers wasn't as odd at a place like that and figuring she might fit in best there being a little younger due to skipping several grades.
